Biography

Anne Grant (née M'vicar) (February 21, 1755 - November 7, 1838), was a Scottish poet and author.

She was born in Glasgow, and in 1779 married the Rev. James Grant, minister of Laggan, Invernessshire. She
published in 1802 a volume of poems. She also wrote Letters from the Mountains, and Essays on the Superstitions of the Highlands. After 1810 she lived in Edinburgh, where she was the friend of Sir Walter Scott and other eminent men, through whose influence she received a pension of £100.
