So often is the virgin sheet of paper more real than what one has to say, and so often one regrets having marred it.

Biography

Harold Acton (July 5, 1904 - February 27, 1994) was an Anglo-Italian writer and dilettante who is probably most famous for inspiring the character of Anthony Blanche in Evelyn Waugh's novel Brideshead Revisited (1945).

Following Acton's death, DNA testing revealed the existence of a half-sister, whose heirs have gone to court to challenge Acton's $500 million bequest to New York University.
