Biography

John Banner (1910-1973) was an Austrian actor. He was best known for his role as Sgt. Schulz on Hogan's Heroes. John Banner was born in Vienna, Austria on January 28, 1910. He passed away of an abdominal hemorrhage on his birthday, also in Vienna, Austria.

John Banner, being Jewish, spent time in a concentration camp before being released out of Occupied Germany. Lucky for Banner, the time which he spent in the concentration camp, Nazi policies had not yet changed.

John Banner's film credits include over 40 films and over 70 television appearances including Mr. Ed, The Partridge Family, The Lucy Show and Perry Mason.
