Popularity: -1 Vote: | Elections are breaking out in the strangest places: Afghanistan, Iraq, the Palestinian territories, Georgia, Ukraine. A genuine election in Lebanon would be a darn good thing. |
Popularity: -1 Vote: | More young people believe they'll see a U.F.O. than that they'll see their own Social Security benefits. |
Popularity: -1 Vote: | No, we don't turn our security and safety over to the UN. Occasionally working through the UN is useful. It gives us an opportunity to talk to other countries while they're represented in New York. But the UN is in many ways a pretty big mess. |
Popularity: 1 Vote: | Syria and Iran have always had a pretty tight relationship, and it looks to me like they just cooked up a press release to put out to sort of restate the obvious. They're both problem countries; we know that. And this doesn't change anything. |
Popularity: -3 Vote: | The money that goes into Social Security is not the government's money. it's your money. You paid for it. |

Popularity: 2 Vote: | The president feels not only do we need to change these rogue regimes, but even our friendly allies, who really basically have, sort of, benign dictatorships, need to get with the program if they want to have long-term security and prosperity from terrorism. |
Popularity: -1 Vote: | There is a lot of room for improvement in Social Security. We owe our children the most financially sound system possible. They will have paid into it their entire working lives. They deserve to be protected by it. for our children and grandchildren. |
Popularity: 1 Vote: | We all know that Social Security is one of this country's greatest success stories in the 20th century. |
Popularity: 1 Vote: | We need to strengthen and save Social Security for today's workers. If we don't act now, this system, born out of the New Deal, will become a bad deal. |

Addison Mitchell "Mitch" McConnell, Jr. (born February 20, 1942) is a Republican U.S. Senator from Kentucky. He is the Majority Whip of that body, making him the second-ranking Republican behind Majority Leader Bill Frist.
Biography Born in Alabama and raised in south Louisville, Kentucky, McConnell graduated from the University of Louisville College of Arts and Sciences in 1964, and graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 1967. He gained experience on Capitol Hill as an intern under Sen. John Sherman Cooper, later as an assistant to Sen. Marlow Cook, and was a Deputy Assistant Attorney General under President Gerald R. Ford Jr.. From 1978 to his election into the Senate, he was the County Judge-Executive of Jefferson County, Kentucky, having defeated a two-term incumbent to win the office.
McConnell was elected in his home state of Kentucky, and sworn in on January 2, 1985, being the only Republican to defeat a Democratic incumbent in 1984. He has been reelected three times, and is a solid incumbent in Kentucky (he was reelected in 2002 with the most solid majority by a Republican candidate in the history of that state). On November 12 of that year, McConnell was unanimously elected as Majority Whip of the Senate. He is currently married to the Secretary of Labor, Elaine Chao.
