Biography

Vanessa Chantal Paradis (born December 22 1972) is a French singer and actress. She was discovered on the TV show L'Ecole Des Fans. Vanessa recorded her first single "La Magie Des Surprises-Parties" (The Magic of Surprise Parties) in 1985 and became famous with the song "Joe le Taxi" in 1987. She has since appeared in several films, most famously 1999's "La Fille Sur Le Pont" (The Girl on the Bridge), a black a white love story co-starring Daniel Auteuil, and 2004's "Mon Ange". It has been said that her level of fame in France, is the equivalent of Shania Twain in the U.S., without the country overtones.
A Face of Chanel In 1992, Vanessa famously promoted a new fragrance for Chanel simply titled Coco. In 2004 they chose her once again to promote Chanel's new line of handbags called 'Ligne Cambon'.
