Biography

-- 01:56, 8 Apr 2005 (UTC)Hey there! My birth name is Matthew but I go by my tag Venerable Bede here on wikipedia. I have a great love for all types of history, and am currently studying for a Batchelors (and eventually Masters, God Willing) so that I might become a Teacher or Professor.
My interests in history and reading range from everything from ancient (iron age, bronze age, stone age, etc), Roman and Greek history and mythology, Classical Texts, Christian history (which I was raised in) and Muslim History (which I converted to), etc. I also am an avid student of Philosophy (especially the Stoic school as espoused by Epictetus). I dabble in politics a bit and have absolutely no interest in theological debate; I believe what I believe and am perfectly content to let everyone else do the same!
In my spare time I enjoy reading, video games (Specifically of the strategy, RPG, or FPS types), some Soccer (my favorite teams are FAI and Bayern Munchen), as well as fencing, art, camping and outdoors activites (I love nature), and quality time with the family.

My interest in japanese history naturally follows my appreciation of the works of Akira Kurosawa, Takashi Shimura, and Toshiro Mifune. I've added a bit of info into this, and heavily edited it for NPOV. The article itself is excellent, and the people who have devoted time to creating/editing the Japanese History articles must be congratulated.

The dreaded assassins themselves. I've studied the Nizari Ismailies (and Isma'ilism in general) for a very long time, so I'm going to restructure practically every Isma'ili article on wikipedia, starting with this one. Stay tuned, it's going to be a long effort; I have a lot of info to add.
I've copy-edited and made barely mentionable changes to probably about 3 dozen articles by now, but all so minor I won't bother to list them here.
